Chilliwack and Vedder Rivers Clean Up

Hailey and Len with part of their "haul"
This morning I had an opportunity to "give back" with Jackson Kayak angler, Len and his beautiful daughter, Hailey at the Chilliwack and Vedder Rivers Clean Up.  This event was organized by the great volunteers of the Chilliwack Vedder River Cleanup Society

In 2011, 462 volunteers participated in the society's three cleanups, putting in 1,848 volunteer hours and collecting 7.14 tonnes of material, giving them a total of 72.87 tonnes of garbage collected since 2002.

If you are a kayak angler, paddler, hiker, cyclist, walker, an equestrian or anyone else enjoying the beauty of these rivers, coming together to help preserve and clean up these natural areas for the wildlife that make it their home and for our recreational enjoyment is important.  It is a cause very worthy of our time.

The next river clean up in Chilliwack is Saturday July 14th at the Great Blue Heron Nature Reserve

Also don't forget to mark your calendars well in advance for the
BC Rivers Day Clean-up at the Chilliwack Fish & Game Clubhouse (48685 Chilliwack Lake Road, across from Thompson Park) on
Sunday, September 30th.

For those who are able I am looking for prize donations for the BC Rivers Day celebrations (value $25.00-$50.00) if you or your business have gift certificates or items to donate they would be very appreciated.  Please contact me.
